yeah, CherryTrail actually has a decent GPU (same as Core M, IIRC) this time. and I'm all for simplifying product naming / making it easier to determine performance level

Because its not a atom, its a quad core 1.99 ghz celeron. Its worth the price for the performance if your building a home server as well. I do everything on mine.

it's a BayTrail-based SoC, which is part of the Atom family, regardless of Intel marketing some of them as Celerons (eg, N2830/N2930). From a Kodi perspective, it's drastically inferior to a Haswell-based Celeron (both CPU/GPU).

The j1900 has twice the L1 and L2 cache, its an actual 4 core, SSE4. It uses the Intel HD graphics at 688mhz. By your logic a i7 is what everyone should buy. Mine handles the heaviest themes, hardest videos, and all while running Sonarr, Coucpotato, sabnzbd, and Xeoma running 4 security cameras, 2 VMs, Web server, etc. It also serves all my media through the house.

About time for them to stop calling an Atom a Celeron.
