Questions and Seeking Suggestions for Reorganizing Movies
#1
My movies are on a NAS and I'm using MySQL. They now reside in one Folder with some subfolders for Movie Sets. Example (folders in brackets):

Code:
[Movies]
-[Sport]
--[NHL]
---2010-03-28 Rangers vs. Red Wings
-[Vacation]
--Christmas Vacation (1989)
--European Vacation (1985)
--Vacation (1983)
-12 Angry Men (1957)
-Being There (1979)
-Witness (1985)

As it is recommended that movies be sorted each in its own folder. I have two questions:

1. What is the best way to create separate folders and move movies into them without XBMC rescanning, duplicating all movies and losing Watched statuses?

2. Do you use movie set folders and titles in it or keep all movies in one folder level?

Any other ideas for organizing movies are appreciated.

For #1, backup the watched status, rescan, then restore from watched status: http://kodi.wiki/view/Backup#Watch_status_only

It'll work either way. Usually if I buy a box set I'll put them all in a common folder, but since sets are scraped from TMDB you don't always know what movies may wind up as part of a set later. I don't go back a re-organize mine after they've already been added to my library.
