i am sharing a folder from my comp network for tv/movies so i can get my android box to play in my living room,the only problem i have now is kodi on my comp is now useless ,it opens links but it freezes and there is no sound at all.it wont even play files from my comp ,window media player comes up with this error if i just try to play them

Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct.

they will play in vlc but there is no sound,but i can play them them to my tv in the other room no problem

never had this problem until i started sharing folders on my network

so any help on this matter would be much appreciated

problem solved

windows had changed my sound settings to hdmi digital from the default speaker setup which i have,links where opening for the streams but the audio setting i had was conflicting in kodi and the streams were not being processed properly.
