Recordings not updating after scheduled record
#1
Background: Mythtv 0.27 Backend. Openelec 5.0.1 frontend on Raspberry Pi B+. Running latest Mythtv PVR add-on. Series recordings were scheduled on Mythtv.

Issue: After a scheduled recording, the new recording doesn't show up under Live TV -> Recordings. In fact on skins that list currently recording programs, it still lists that the program is recording hours after the recording finished. It seems as if the info just isn't updating from the Mythtv backend. The only way to refresh the list is to reboot my Pi. Anybody else having this issue? Any thoughts on what I can do? I didn't see any errors in the kodi log. Is there a separate log somewhere for the Mythtv plugin?

Thanks!
Peter

Anyone what experience this or is it just me? I've restarted my mythtv backend a few days ago and haven't had the issue since. I'll keep an eye on it now and see if issue returns.

I experience the same and running the same equipment and Pi2 B+ as well. Always have to reboot my PIs to get the latest (and even watch LiveTV). You can also restart the plugin by disabling/enabling but rebooting is quicker with OpenElec I think.

Well at least I'm not alone. I've found that I can go a longer time duration in between recordings not updating if I restart my myth backend. Just something you may want to try.

Weird. Have you some log file (after enabling debug log from the setting) ?

Sorry, but what's the best way to post a log file? (not certain I can post an attachment since this is my second post on the forum). I've turned on the advance logging in plugin options on my Pi2 box.

do not try to post the log inline, or to dropbox. Use pastebin.

Code:
pastebinit .kodi/temp/kodi.log

Your log file is clean , no error about parsing backend message or something like that. I think you could have same issue opened last week ago. User had a very big list of rec rules, more than 200, and the addon get long time to compute equivalent timer. This job was done by the same thread update recordings list. Now the issue is resolved with version 1.12.10. You can download it from my cloud.

i have gone two days since (since 3/14/2015) using version pvr.mythtv-RPi2-arm7-1.12.10-helix.zip of the plugin.

Here is my latest log file: http://pastebin.com/ckbr19Gx . I haven't restarted my Pi2 box for 2 days. I am not getting any updates to recordings, upcoming recordings, etc and I have the nightly news set to record every evening as well as other shows.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Not a debug log.

Not complete, where should it show a new recording?

I would set debug logging and reboot just before the news starts tonight, then stop kodi and paste the debug log after the recording has finished. That should show any messages at the start and the end of the recording.

I have done as you suggested. I first set a recording for "Star Wars Rebels", turned on debugging and restarted the Pi2 box. This seemed to refresh correctly when the recording was finished and also showed the recording in the recorded programs listing. I then turned off the debugging.

I then turned debugging back on a minute before recording the next show, "NBC Nightly News", without restarting the Pi2 box. I then stopped the debugging once the recording had finished. However, the home screen did not update that the recording had taken place (the information was still displaying that the next recording "NBC Nightly News" was on 3/18/2015 @ 6:30 pm; nor was the recording listed in the recorded programs listings.) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxPfa2n...sp=sharing

The log is located here: http://pastebin.com/ckbr19Gx
