kodi ppa is broken, missing kodi-bin
#1
Hi,

I would like to install kodi onto my Wetek.Play device.
It's currently running plain ubuntu.

Code:
$ sudo apt-get install kodi
...
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kodi : Depends: kodi-bin (>= 2:14.1~git20150130.1238-final-0trusty) but it is not installable
        Depends: kodi-bin (< 2:14.1~git20150130.1238-final-0trusty.1~) but it is not installable
        Depends: libshairplay0 but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
$ cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/team-xbmc-ppa-trusty.list
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/ppa/ubuntu trusty main

It's an armhf system.
If you look into
http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/ppa/u...f/Packages
then you see that there is no package kodi-bin but depends from kodi to kodi-bin

thanks

there are no arm builds in our launchpad PPAs, so its not a bug.

Well, this looks like arm:
http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/ppa/u...ary-armhf/

If it's incomplete you should either remove it or add a readme that tells it's incomplete.

thanks

I repeat: We do not build arm binaries for ubuntu. We never have, nor did we ever say we do. Digging out default dirs that launchpad seems to create automatically, but are nowhere advertised, is not proving your point.
It wouldn't make any sense, since ARM GPUs are too fragmented and builds need a lot of hardware specific tuning to work properly(or at all).

What's the main interface Kodi is using for decoding video and displaying gfx if working in hardware mode?
