Getting Joystick To Mimic Arrow Navigation Cursor Stop
#1
Hello Everyone,

Tough to come up with a good thread subject title for this one.
In any version of Kodi when using the arrow keys on a keyboard to navigate through any kind of list (main menu items, file lists, etc.) if you hold down an arrow key it will quickly scroll through that list but when the cursor gets to say the end of a list there is a nice programmed stop, which prevents the cursor from scrolling back to the beginning / top of that list. After you release your hold on the down arrow key and then tap it once it will loop to the top of the file list.

When using a joystick/controller where you map the arrow keys to the device using a program such as Joytokey, Xpadder, etc. and you navigate your cursor around (with these mapped arrow keys) that nice programmed stop does not occur and it automatically loops to the top of the file list.

My question is what is Kodi detecting from the actual keyboard arrows that it is not receiving from the joystick/controller mapped arrows? Must be some kind of speed/repeating setting?

EDIT:
Version: Gotham 13.2
PS3 Controller
Is using a PS3 custom keymap a better solution rather than using a keyboard to joystick mapper?

Thank you to anyone who takes the time to view this and or shares any advice.
