USB 3.0 or SD Card
#1
So I'm an idiot and just broke my class 10 sd card while trying to put it in the pc adapter.

Was about to order a replacement but have this question: what would it be faster on the pi2? A good sd card or a good USB 3.0 (I know it does not support 3.0)? Is the difference noticeable?

If there is no noticeable difference I would rather have a USB stick, as I think eventually I will break the sd card slot on the RPI.

Also any recommendations?

I tried it with a old no name usb3 stick with raspbian and although I didn't do any tests it felt slower than a lexar class 10 microsd card. But with this kind of thing YMMV depending on the quality of the sticks/cards.

I used to be a firm advocate of needing a usb 3.0 + SD card setup but this really isn't needed anymore with the pi 2. An sd card with fast random 4k / 512k writes is most important and all that is required for Kodi operation and library scanning etc.

Check my post here for more info on sd card performance and a link to the card I am using. It's stupidly fast and very cheap.
