Enabled Audio Pass-through but no Sound

So I was messing with my receiver and settings this evening. I turned on passthrough, but I have no sound. I have video, but the receiver displays "No Signal"

I am not sure if something broke in the settings or it simply is not enabling correctly, but something is certainly not working right.

Video card is a XFX Radeon HD6570

One thing I did notice is that this might be related to DTSHD and TrueHD sources as a TV show using DD 5.1 has sound.

Didn't read that u are using the HD6570.
Dunno which OS you are using, but please do a clean driver wipe of your AMD drivers and reinstall the latest one. I read about some HDMI Audio Driver issues with Windows 7 in the past, maybe there is something buggy in your current configuration. Can only talk for Windows based systems Wink

@sulfred, using openelec. Receiver is capable.

@david1977 the paste bin is the full log from enabling debug, starting file, stopping and disabling. Do you want me to do a full reboot upon enabling to get everything?

The best way to paste a log is this:

1. enable debug logging (you did that already)
2. reboot (to keep the log clean and as short as possible)
3, reproduce your issue(s) as fast as you can (for keeping logs short, too)
4. if you are on OE do:

cat /storage/.kodi/temp/kodi.log | pastebinit

and provide the URL you will get and don't cut the logfile.

well, I feel a little not smart...

After I posted the above log, I kept playing with things and short of re-installing, I went back to my settings. I had been focusing on the audio section when in reality, I think the issue was the video. At least that is where I made the change to make things work.

It seem that during my playing around with the audio back and forth, the video switched over to Monitor: Default and the refresh rate was at 30.

Go figure, so I changed monitor to HDMI-1 and refresh to 60, everything was still in place in the audio section, loaded up my video and boom, passthrough. It was a glorious thing really. Made me happy knowing that I can make full use of my media and equipment now.

The only question that remains I guess would be how do I ensure that I am using hardware decoding on both the audio and the video? Or is there no good way to tell and I should just trust the software?

Passthrough means you are not doing any audio decoding at all.

Video decoding - press O on a keyboard and it brings up codec info. What is the video decoding listed as?

Yeah, that's what I meant. Just want to make sure I wasn't accidentally still doing any of the work in the software and instead leaving the heavy lifting to my hardware, be it the video card or receiver. I'll post the info later today when I have a chance to turn it on. Thanks

So things have been good since switching video output, but the other night I had no audio, had to disable pass-through and re-enable it to get audio, everything is fine since, but it was still odd.
