LiveTV buffers more since upgrade to Kodi (logs)
#1
Hi

Don't know if I'm posting in the correct area so feel free to move the thread if it's wrong.

Im using the IPTV simple PVR addon for watching LiveTV (http streams). In 13.2 Gotham this was working really smooth and fast but since upgrading to Kodi 14.1 the streams take about 7-8 seconds to start, which makes channel switching a nightmare. I've also tested my streams in VLC and they work correct there so I really don't know what has changed in Kodi to make my streams take so long to start.

Can any of you kind souls please look at the logs and see if you see anything suspicious?

I've replaced the stream URL with XXXX as I don't feel like sharing my streams.

I noticed this difference in the logs, in the gotham version there is a lot more information in this part of the log compared to the Kodi version. Maybe that has something to do with the problem?

I just read that Helix uses an updated version of ffmpeg. Could something like this be the problem?

I wonder if it's related to the caching bug that 14 and 15 have.
Whenever the short term cache (AQ&VQ) runs out and it tried to switch to the local real cached data, there's about a 10 second paused delay until the video starts playing again.
