HDMI cycle on my NUC with an external amp
#1
Now that I have working IR on my little NUC (nuc5i5ryk) I'm on to the next issue. My setup is nuc5i5ryk -> HDMI -> Onkyo 609 receiver -> HDMI out to Panasonic 50GT30B.

I have a Logitech Harmony One remote that turns the respective devices on when I active 'Watch XBMC'

My issue is that HDMI does not get output unless the nuc5i5ryk is turned on last. If the Onkyo 609 is turned on first, followed by the nuc5i5ryk then I get a signal. It doesn't matter if the TV is turned on.

Is there anyway of ensuring a display signal even if the nuc is turned on first (or my amp has not finished boot up)?

My only option at the moment is to turn the nuc off and then back on again. The situation is fine if the Onkyo/TV is already on watching something else and I switch over to the nuc which is then powered on.

Edit: after setting my harmony to boot the amp first, it works.

There is a solution....

You can hardcode the EDID information the NUC gets. But I can´t find the relating thread anymore. There was a How-To for Intel Hardware.

If I´ll find it again, I will link you to
