Hi

I have a ATV1 and want to update XBMC to Kodi

Its running Open ELEC and most of the plugins have script failed error

Been looking about but cant find the guide i need

There are is an unofficial OSMC builds (which uses Kodi) mentioned here ATV1 (wiki).

You can either:

a) Wait till Sam Nazarko finishes OSMC for the ATV1 and install or

b) Read this thread and install a Crystalbuntu ATV1 40GB HDD image

c) Then update to Kodi Helix or Kodi Isengard once you have Crystalbuntu on your ATV1 HDD.
