The Blu-ray Disc Association formally completed the Ultra HD Blu-ray specification

-Ultra HD Blu-ray supports 10bit per channel color
-Ultra HD 4K TVs need support the Rec. 2020 colour space
-Colours that can be displayed 16.7 million to 1.07 billion.
-Ultra HD Blu-ray will make use of HEVC video encoding.
-BDXL format 2 layers for 66GB, 3 layers for 100GB
-Support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X Lossless formats
-Ultra HD Blu-ray 3840x2160 resolution

The specification specifies players must also be capable of playing back current Blu-ray Discs

Specification enhances the value of content ownership by embracing the notion that a content purchase can enable the consumer to view their content across the range of in-home and mobile devices.
