VC-1 videos no longer play properly with MediaCodec. I get a pink screen with the two I tried (Blade Runner & Serenity, straight MKV rip). Disabling MediaCodec and using Libstagefright seems to work ok though.

OTA 2.0 has serious grayscale and color errors. See my post in the hardware sub forum - http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=...pid2121125

But from what I've seen myself and reported by others, it looks like Kodi is not affected by the gamma (??) issue. I'm no Android expert, but maybe Kodi is using a different render/output path vs. regular apps.
Not clear to me does Jarvis (Kodi 16 alpha 2) already support HD audio bit streaming or is that something the devs still have to add ? It looks like 7.1 decode to LPCM works in Jarvis, but no bitstreaming. Before 2.0, Kodi would take the "core" stream from DTS-HD and TrueHD.

I mainly use my Shield for Kodi at the moment (too lazy to turn on my HTPC and this Android box can be switched on via a remote, and
consumes way less power), so ithe color issue is no big deal for me.
Still, I hope Nvidia fixes this asap. It's something they should have seen during Q&A testing.

No, HD audio pass-through is not working in Kodi, it will only decode and output as 8 channel LPCM at this time.

My movies are completely washed out in Kodi if the framerate switches. Using the Google Play version.

Anyone know if the new shield update adds anything specific to kodi? Since i have had for months dynamic refresh rate. It switches from 60hz to 24hz each time i play/quit a movie.
DTS HD and dolby true hd, doesn't work with kodi, and never will, if I'm right? So is there something else that is good for kodi with the new 2.0 shield update?

The new update add 23.967 and 59.94hz support which was not there before. DTS HD* and TrueHD bitstreaming will work in Kodi in the future. Some HDMI-CEC changes were made.
There is an issue with color decoding in the update though. I noticed it on the Live Channels app watching football last night.

Yes it does affect kodi on refresh rate switching. So only options are watch in 50/60hz or switch to 23.976 in Android before watching. Nvidia still not commented on this yet.

"Nvidia still not commented on this yet"
I wonder how long they can let this go on? It is a very obvious/annoying issue

Am i missing something?
My XBMC since june or july has been 60fps when browsing menus inside kodi, then when starting a movie my tv goes blank for half a second then changes to 24hz.
I have adjust display refresh rate enabled
this is with the nvidia shield tv of course

Not really sure what you're referring too, the gamma issue or are you talking about refresh rate switch? Auto frame rate switching works in Kodi, but whether it does work for you may depend on your system. Not everyone has been able to get it working.
As for Nvidia commenting on it, well the update only came out today and as with any issue, Nvidia has to be able to duplicate the issue.
For the gamma issue, Nvidia has already stated that they are looking into what's causing it.

Man, i love the shield. Just did 2 quick videos to show how nice the system is. It can literally do anything.

Apps (kodi, popcorntime, chrome) - The avengers part is a 40gb bluray, and the shield tv doesn't sweat
