Cheers guys, there are a bunch of AMlogic S805 MK808B Plus owners about after poofyhairguy's recommendation over in the Hardware thread.

I forgot about broadcast TV and deinterlacing quality. It superior to my RPi2, especially viewing fast action sports.
The AMlogic S805 VPU, does Advanced Motion Adaptive Edge Enhancing deinterlacing producing excellent results.
In fact I believe the AMlogic S802/S812 and the AML8726-MX in the Wetek Play should both produce similar results.

S805 devices that are equipped with Gigabit Ethernet and running OpenElec make an excellent, cheap TvHeadend Backend Server / Kodi TvHeadend client.

Hm, i dont know but here on my country this is my second Android box in 2 year (this two have wifi and conax support) - i cant live without wifi \ cx reader and the result is same,
i cant use long time this very good mediacenter.

In the settings i can switch in advanced video config the HW acc mode, however maximum i can switch off.

I dont understand why is hard make a good, m3 supported KODI \ XBMC or make two builds. I think many poeple can or want pay, if maybe get support.

I know different HW, cpu but here in my country since two years no change in using hardware.

Ease of Upgrading > Very Easy, Multiple methods: OTA update, Windows firmware flashing tool, SD Card/USB update (not for all firmware).

SPMC/Kodi 15.x Isengard Installable > Yes

True 24p video output with Android > Yes
HD Audio Passthrough/3D Blu-ray > Amlogic has partnered with VidOn (I know). Minix has enabled support for VidOn in their firmware. HD audio passthrough works with select AVRs.

Other OS Installable > Openelec 5.0.8 (surkovalex) apparently 24-bit 192KHz playback is supported (I haven't tested this).
Dual / Triple Boot > No
Alternative working Android Firmware > Finless Bob, Stane (both of them have not been updated for a long time now).
Last working XBMC Version > Minix XBMC 13.3.3

Have one Minix Neo X8-H also, and the feedback is the same as wesk05.
SPMC, Kodi an XBMC from Minix, all work well

MINIX NEO X8-H PLUS my results are the same.

Nice work building you own Firmware Smile

You will be able to tell if you have if you have properly synced 23.976/59.94Hz video output by the missing 41 second video frame glitch when 23.976fps video is played at 24Hz. Most TV's show 24p on the OSD for both 23.976 and 24Hz video input.
Also the patched AMlogic Linux Kernel that enables this desired video playback will spit out vout [framerate_automation_set_mode] messages if you type dmesg in any Android Terminal App.

Device > MXQ S85 (1GB/8GB with Bluetooth, red tick and red mark on box top)
AMlogic SoC: S805 ((h265 @ 4k@30fps capable - HDMI 1.4)
Firmware > Android 4.4.2
Rooted Firmware> Yes
Ease of Upgrading > Easy, Boot from image on SD card or USB stick
Is SPMC/Kodi 14.2 Installable > Yes
Working > Yes

SPMC/Kodi 15.x Isengard Installable > Yes
Working > Yes
Dynamic Refresh Rate Switchable > Not sure, I see no stutter during playback (TV only indicates 1080p@60Hz)
True 24p video output with Android > Note sure. external mx player also works fine thou

Official ROM version 110k4
Custom ROMs by MediaMan at http://mbox.co.za/forum/viewforum.php?f=11 which also enable wireless xbox 360 gamepad support, and many other tweaks.

Using either Stock or Custom ROM plays 720p over wifi without issue, but I have them wired and plays most bitrate 1080p films without issue.
h265 videos play using external android players (eg mx player)
Typically £30 (incl delv to UK) , comes with a OTG cable and decent range remote, used as bedroom media boxes with a centralised Kodi database on a NAS . Stable and add in the ability to play android games has proven to be an easy buy for me.

Looking forward to S905 variants in next couple of months.

Ease of Upgrading > USB with PC

Other OS Installable > no

RKM MK12 + AMLOGIC S812 (h265 @ 4k capable) + 2 GB RAM + rooted Android 4.4.2, *issues* with Kodi 15.0
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
# "Allow hardware acceleration - amcodec" - skipping FFW or RW (pressing up/down or back/front arrows from remote) h264 files, it freezes the image but the sound continues. DISABLE to fix the issue (though I do not know if videos still run through hardware) (tis issue was NOT present on Kodi 14.2);

tested today with some h264 files and I got mixed results: most files play nice (with amcodec OFF) and no sync issues when I skip forward; some other files are laggy and lose frames, but if I turn amcodec ON, then they play silk smooth. On Kodi 14.2 they work all perfectly with amcodec ON.

# h264 & h265 files have now and then some freezing/syncing issues (no issues on Kodi 14.2)

# like on Kodi 14.x, sometimes it does not find subtitles on "opensubtitles" when on the website/through other apps (MPC, etc) it recognizes and downloads pretty well. (also on Kodi 14.2)

# still no function to clean the "garbage" left on the add-ons folder: 1) it could be made an option "leave only the two most recent add-on packages"; 2) the NOT installed skins could stay compressed, else there are TONS of files & images taking up the precious space; 3) thumbnails cleanup option where all images associated with removed ADD-ONs/movies would be removed; 4) option to choose what thumbnails should be downloaded (ex: "only cover" "cover + actors" "cover + fan art" etc etc), so people could limit the amount used.

Personally I find Kodi fantastic, *but* with no "cleanup" function/"compress unused add-ons", it is too inefficient and uses too much space to be used freely on Android devices...

He specially told you two versions of Kodi that work fully on the MK808B-Plus in his post. There's no reason for him to private message you. Read what he said.
