I have a HTPC in my living room which I am using Windows 7 Pro for the OS and KODI as the front end. I also have SiliconDust HDHomeRun TV tuner that is used by Windows media server. I use WMC server as the interface into KODI. If I run WMC Server as a service, Kodi does not detect the backend, and I don't get a TV menu item. So I have to run WMC Server as an application minimized in the system tray. Perhaps as a result of this KODI looses input focus for the IR remote.
I have tried several different solutions, none of which work:
1. Launcher4Kodi. When the shell is set for Windows explorer, Kodi still looses focus. When shel is set to Launcer4Kodi, then WMC Server does not run.
2. Tried Kodi is windowed, Full screen and a third option which eludes me at the moment. All result in Kodi loosing input focus.
Because of this I have attached a mouse to the HTPC and have to use it to bring Kodi back into input focus. I am going to try Autohotkey. Other than that does anyone have any suggestions?
