v14 HDMI CEC not fully working with Toshiba TV (OpenELEC 5.0.9/RPi2)
#1
Hello all,

I have a problem with getting HDMI CEC working on my Toshiba TV (32AV833G) with Open ELEC 5.0.9 on my brand new RPI2. A bunch of facts:
- TV does support CEC (aka HDMI Link) (http://www.manualslib.com/manual/527382/...=46#manual)
- Kodi Extension DOES detect the TV and says it's connected.
- Works: powering on/off upon turning the RPi on/off
- Doesn't work: everything else Confused

I cross checked the board with my main, Samsung TV (worked fine) and also hooked up my old RPi B to Toshiba TV - same result as above. My first thought was the cable, but according to the spec, the CEC is one-wire standard (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#CEC), so if the RPi does detect the TV, it should work?

Did anyone else had similar issues with Toshiba TVs? I've seen couple of threads but none of there really reflected my situation... I hope to get another HDMI cable to check (the one plugged into Samsung is hidden in the wall), but I don't really suspect the cable...

Thanks,
Radek

Have you got anywhere with this?

I have a similar problem with my Sony TV, starting a new thread rather than hijack

1. it's always worth trying a different cable, since some come provided with oddities which affect things like CEC and ARC (which are the more recent arrivals in the HDMI standard.
2. did the CEC work fully for theSamsung TV connected to RPi (if so, was it with the same cable?)
3. did you turn on debugging in the RPi and look (In either or both cases) to see what came through when pressing TV remote keys?
4. is there any other equipment in the loop - some audio equipment has caused oddities when used, particularly if it has HDMI connection?

Hey radekj,

I'm having a similar problem with my Toshiba. I've tried all the obvious items, HDMI cable, complete restarts, enabling/disabling CEC, etc. so far not luck. My RPi was working until I upgraded OpenElec from 4.2 to 5.0.8

Have you had any more luck? I'm considering a roll back to OpenElec 4.2 at this stage.

Thanks

Have you unplugged the TV (and possibly other CEC devices) from the mains for a minute? Strangely that often fixes CEC issues.
Also try unplugging any other CEC devices from TV/receiver in case they are interfering.

Reverting to 4.2 or updating to [ul=http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=234678]nearly Isengard[/url] would be interesting to show if it is purely a software issue with 5.0.8.
