Kodi crash on play video Ubuntu 14.04.2
#1
In all addons tried so far, to play a video, I get the sources to select a stream and when stream is selected, indicator "working" appears in lower right hand corner, then Kodi crashes. This happens in addons that are "search for, display results" and also in LIVE apps that you click on the choice but are not provided with a host selection.

Seems as if it gets to the point where the player should start playing the vid and shows indicator "working" (may be displayed for 30 seconds or more) then just crashes.

I'm kind a newbie with Linux Ubuntu.....

Kodi 15.0-RC1 Git:9ff25f8 compiled 7/5/15
Install Method PPA
Dell Optliplex Pentium D x86-64 running Ubuntu 14.04.2 with MATE desktop

Thanks for any help!

Perhaps try with not banned addons. Official:Forum_rules/Banned_add-ons (wiki)

I just tried it again with two apps from the Kodi Repository Video Add-ons: CBS News Live and Cnet Podcasts. Same result. Crashes just at the point where it should start playing....

If there is a crash - then there is a crashlog directly in your home directory.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I dont mean this as an offense and if anyone is offended then recheck your priorities.

I will not help anyone who installs any 3rd party banned addons/repos and complain about any kodi issues.

Its a pure waste of time, I dont even care if its pirate addons or not. Start with a fresh unadulterated userdata (wiki) and then break the setup at own peril.
