So, I've got a very interesting problem that has plagued me since I first tried using XBMC a few years ago. And an interesting twist 
My main Media Server is a Mac Mini running 10.10.2. I have successfully been running Plex on it for years and have generally been happy, though I'd rather run Kodi as I want access to all of the plug-ins and flexibility that just aren't there for Plex. The issue that I have is that I just can't get XBMC/Kodi to Set Content, scrape and thus add my carefully named Movies and TV Shows folders to the Library. All of the files are loaded on an attached 8 TB Firewire HDD that is readily visible (as a Blue iconed drive under the default skin) and addable under "Add videos...". I've even tried serving them via NFS to myself... no joy. I've tried as both a restricted user and as an Admin. I am running Kodi vsersion 15.0. Every time I complete the Set Content step, and say yes to refreshing the content, regardless of which scraper, the library scan runs for a flash (less than a second) and then nothing shows up in the library. I've cleaned the library and repeated... no joy.
Now, here's the wrinkle... I also have a Macbook Air that I use. I installed the same version of Kodi (and with XBMC incidentally) on it, and mapped the very same hd drive using Mac Sharing attached to the Mac Mini via my wifi router to the Air. When I add the same media source... in a slightly different way (I go through Volumes to find the attached Mac Share drive), the the content is scraped just fine and all of the content is added to the library flawlessly (movies, tv shows, HD, 3D, etc.). In fact, it works PERFECTLY! So, I've tried doing the same thing with the Mac Mini (adding the folders via Volumes -> External HDD -> Moves), and I get the same lack of content scraping. It's downright excruciating!

The issue that I have is that I just can't get XBMC/Kodi to Set Content, scrape and thus add my carefully named Movies and TV Shows folders to the Library. All of the files are loaded on an attached 8 TB Firewire HDD that is readily visible (as a Blue iconed drive under the default skin) and addable under "Add videos...". I've even tried serving them via NFS to myself... no joy. I've tried as both a restricted user and as an Admin. I am running Kodi vsersion 15.0. Every time I complete the Set Content step, and say yes to refreshing the content, regardless of which scraper, the library scan runs for a flash (less than a second) and then nothing shows up in the library. I've cleaned the library and repeated... no joy.
Now, here's the wrinkle... I also have a Macbook Air that I use. I installed the same version of Kodi (and with XBMC incidentally) on it, and mapped the very same hd drive using Mac Sharing attached to the Mac Mini via my wifi router to the Air. When I add the same media source... in a slightly different way (I go through Volumes to find the attached Mac Share drive), the the content is scraped just fine and all of the content is added to the library flawlessly (movies, tv shows, HD, 3D, etc.). In fact, it works PERFECTLY! So, I've tried doing the same thing with the Mac Mini (adding the folders via Volumes -> External HDD -> Moves), and I get the same lack of content scraping. It's downright excruciating!
