Linux new to this

I am a newbie but really frustrated I installed kodi for the first time ever on my mint 17.1 system it crashed on startup so I change to Lubuntu same so probably a hardware issue
so to start I put this on the paste bin place

Last thing to try, in one shell (both commands same shell):

export MESA_GL_VERSION_OVERRIDE=3.0
kodi
this worked for me thanks

is there a way to change something so I don't have to do this from terminal everytime?

depends on how you start kodi. If you start it from a desktop, you can edit the desktop file to set the env var.
if you autostart via upstart script, put it there
