I have a MX Jarvis with XBMC 12.4 but I need to upgrade to the next versions. some addons are broken and I have smoothstreams and need to get the update as this addon is not working

I am not sure of the process for this. I have tired lots of different things but to no success.

1.http://kodi.tv/download/ when I add this there is nothing in the folder.

2.can not Google play store on my box.

3. Tired USB with folder and cannot open the folder

Do I need wipe clean the XBMC and upload the Isengard or Helix at the beginning?

Is there no way off an automatic upgrade to new version?

I bought the box ready to go with all addons installed

If anyone can help please let me know
