Choppy Video & Audio

Long term XBMC build which was working fine and had been upgraded to Kodi 14. Had playback issues, upgraded to 15 but the problems remain.

Video files will pause, skip and jump. O stats show frame drops. These files play fine outside of Kodi on the same device.

Kodi 15.1
Windows 7 64Bit SP1
Intel ATOM 4C / 64Bit 1.6Ghz
RAM - 4GB

NB// Files are coming from a SMB share, 1Gb. Network b/w tested and working fine.

Playing any file results in stuttering. Inc previously watched ones. This started on version 14 after a long period of not using Kodi, so a number of windows / hardware patches will have been applied.

Searched forum and have experimented with both 'use full screen mode' and 'Adjust display refresh rate'. Full screen seems to make it worse, enabling refresh rate made no difference.

Tried to follow the FAQ for posting but let me know if anything else is needed.

Looking at that and in the absence of someone more knowledgeable I'm going to suggest changing your audio settings (eg wasapi > direct, try each option) and see if it stops the stutters.

You could always try running OpenElec from a USB drive on the same PC http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/HOW-TO...g_OpenELEC

OpenElec is basically a custom Linux distro that's optimized for Kodi. If it works fine in OpenElec then I would try reinstalling any graphics drivers. Do the movies play fine via an external player like VLC or Windows Media Player?
