Kodi/ServerWMC timeshift not working
#1
Let me start by thanking everyone that puts in the time and effort to develop all of these apps/addons. Smile

My issue is with timeshifting using ServerWMC as a backend.

I am using a Gigabyte Intel i3-4010U as a server:
i3-4010U 1.7GHz
8gb RAM
Windows 8.1 Pro
750gb 2.5" HD

Tuner: HDHomerun Prime with Cablecard
PVR WMC - ServerWMC

I can connect and stream live TV with 4 different clients but none of them can timeshift. When I pause the stream it sits there for a random amount of time, 5 to 45 seconds or so, before my HDHomerun Prime tuner light begins to blink. It usually locks up Kodi once it drops the signal entirely. I can resume the stream before the light stops and save it but I cannot timeshift at all.

I have tried:
Windows 10 PC
Windows 7 PC
RPi 2 (Openelec 5.0.8)
The server PC itself connecting to localhost.

They all produce the same results. Everything works fine in WMC, on the server.

Here is the ServerWMC log (I paused the stream starting at 13:44 then let it close): http://pastebin.com/zXeMsbAF

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated and if anymore info is required, please let me know.

Thank you

Kodi does not have the ability to time shift dlna streams. So turn off dlna mode for kodi.

Umm.. yeah that did it. I figured it was something simple. Blush

Since the 1244 build update, time shifting no longer works properly on a show currently being recorded.

It had been working perfectly with 10s/30s/1m/3m skips forward or back with 1,2,3,4 clicks of the left/right arrow keys. This was rock solid for months.

Now there are massive and apparently random shifts in time and many times if I try to go back it skips forward.

I have tried this with both dlna disabled and enabled for KODI on the ServerWMC program with the same results on KODI systems running on a Win 7 PC, NVIDIA Shield, and a Raspberry Pi running LibreElec. Tuner is an HDHomerun Extend.

Once the recording has finished forward/backwards skips work fine.

I can't think of anything done in the new versions that would effect this (but of course I would say that). Also it has been working fine for me, so there's that. Please post the entire serverwmc log after trying to view an active recording on pastebin (maybe restart serverwmc first to keep the size of the file down). Do you recall the last version of serverwmc that it worked on?

http://pastebin.com/NqYcWCKi Krusty, this was the log from today after a ServerWMC restart when I disabled dlna to see if that would help the issue.

As I stated ServerWMC had been rock solid and my best guess is that the version which had been running was at least 5 months old as this is the first time I had to manually update it to the new server [had ignored the update for some time which I tend to do as when things are working great, I hate to touch them]

Even with this little glitch, ServerWMC has been stellar certainly when compared to TVHeadend.

As all 3 KODI devices exhibited the same issue right after loading in version 1244 my focus has been on ServerWMC but it does not mean I don't have something screwed up in all my KODI installs. It is easy to make the same error multiple times.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Thanks. Try this and see what happens: change the setting GenerateDTS_h264 to false. Ex:

<GenerateDTS_h264>false</GenerateDTS_h264>

After making the change, save it and restart serverwmc. Then try again and let me know. If possible post this new log too.

Also keep dlna turned off for Kodi.

That seemed to work much better Krusty. Do you still want the log file or let sleeping dogs alone?

Thanks a bunch.
