I am a Long time Mediaportal user and switched just yesterday to Kodi.
I really like it so far.

We are 5 people in our house and we have multiple HTPCs that will become Kodis in the next week.

There is a NAS (synology) where I have stored all our DVDs and the recorded TV-Shows.
I will have the database centralized on the synology too

Feature Request

As we are not watching TV together all of the time it would be nice to have a popup when starting a Movie or TV-Show asking which user is sitting in front of the Television.

So there could be an option to activate this feature and this would allow you to chosse from (in our case) 5 Buttons (one for every person/user) so the progress could be recorded for every person individually.

So Mum and Dad have seen 4 episodes of TV Show A and child 1, 2 and 3 5 episodes.

when hovering over a Episode it would be nice which user has seen it already, so the others could catch up so the family can watch the tv show together at one point.

You can do this if you use Emby as the backend, have multiple Emby user accounts and then in the Kodi plugin you can select which people are currently watching.
