hello i have a gamestop xbox 360 controller and it doesn't work on kodi. help

Is it a PDP controller? They make the "Afterglow" line of controllers for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. They also, do state on their(pdp.com) site that they don't support being used on anything other than an Xbox 360, and can't guarantee that it'll even work. in short though, we'll need more info than: " I picked up a xbox 360 controller from gamestop and it doesn't seem to work on kodi". 
There should be a little sticker on the underside of the controller that says who made it. What does it do once you've loaded Kodi? does it seem to respond at all? does the interface just freak out, making it unusuable(true in my case)? just a little more info please.
