Crash on tunning
#1
Hi all,

I am trying to switch from WMC to Kodi. I have the following problem: I am using DVBLink to see DVB-S an DVB-S2 channels. However where I live reception is poor and sometimes I can't tune a channel. If I happen to switch to one of these channels that there is no reception kodi freezes the tv client. I can change channel but nothing happens. I can still use other kodi functions, but not the TV which seems stuck on an endelss loop trying to tune a channel which is not there. When I exit Kodi it crashes in a windows error.

Any thoughts about this?

This is a general issue that happens with some backends. I'm not sure if there's a fix other than using a different backend. I know for sure that tvheadend doesn't have this problem since it uses a different way of sending the video stream to Kodi than most other addons do.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunatelly I am using DVBLink on windows, no chance of using tvheaden. Do you foresee seeing this fixed in a near future? It should not be so difficult to check whenever there is a video stream after some seconds and if not interrupt tunning, display some error message.

Best regards

Luis
