In fact a RPi2 which is $40 (or $70 if you don't have a spare usb charger, sd card etc) does better than a Fire Tv, the Fire is a good solution if you are a Prime subscriber, and even then the Fire Tv stick is a better value.

This type of action by Amazon stores to not sell Apple and Google products might slide in the Americas but won't probabably go as well in Europe and other places.
I bet that is is now only a matter European Union (EU) brings antitrust / anti-competitiveness charges to Amazon for this action.
Google and Microsoft are two other large companies that the EU have changed with being anti-competitive and forced to let other companies use their ecosystems.
Microsoft was previously forced by the EU to activly and partially promote offer Chrome and Firefox web browwers as available alternatives to Internet Explorer.
And more recently has been changed with antitrust for forcing manufacturers who utlize Android to promote other Google apps if they want to use Google Play store.
