green lines then black then continue watching movies

Hi there
A general question before I start to dig deeper. I am VERY new to Linux and KODI so please bear with me.

when I am watching a movie every now and again I see a green line maybe some green flecks THEN the screen goes black then the movie continues as if nothing happened. I am running Unbuntu mate 15.04 and the latest Kodi

what is the best way to diagnose this please? Remember I am a complete noob in this area.

Debug Log is the best way to see what is going wrong. Post an uncut one, please.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Hi there
I have tried to get a log to trap the problem BUT when I have the log running it does not happen. BUT last night I did see a possible two events at 19:15 and 19:23. I can't post the whole log as it's too big and I haven't got the hang of uploading it to pastebin ( still working on it) thanks for the directions. Here's the log segments that cover the two events. All I saw was a flicker whereas if I stop the log, I see a green line flick across the screen, then it goes black then purple and then the hdmi link gives me "no signal"

ANY help you can give me would be appreciated
