Best solution for sharing audio
#1
I currently have upnp setup mostly for sharing audiobooks but have an issue
I have multiple directories which don't show and the ones that do will only show 1 file rather then true total of files

However I'm thinking of moving away from upnp because I would like to access it from outside my network
I'm guessing that's not possible with upnp but maybe I'm wrong it's just that the current player I'm using doesn't have a "enter server ip" box which makes me think upnp doesn't work like that

Does anyone have a solution for sharing files out from kodi over the Internet and my lan
As well as a mobile app that pairs with it (a web player might work but I think it would stop the stream if the scream locks)

Kodi 14 helix
My client would be iOS
But I have an android too so suggestion for either platform are helpful

Upnp is designed to share libraries, not file lists.

After you add the files/directories I scan them in which should create the library

Do the available scrapers actually catalogue audio books?

As for remote, using ES file explorer on Android would allow you to sftp back to your server and I believe has an integrated player.

As for my library
They also seem to be wrong
It mirrors what I see on upnp (missing files within the book)

How can I fix my library?

Sorry to jump around here. I still can't seem to find out if you can share upnp past my lan. As well as a client that would let me give it an address
