The combination of the new versions of Raspian and Kodi is a noteworthy improvement on the older one.
There used to be screen artefacts on some videos, single pixel red dots, and these have gone.
The other issue was when ending a session; selecting exit would close down my amplifier and TV via CEC, but not shut down the operating system (thanks to SSH I could work around this). The new version of Kodi properly closes down the A/V gear as before, and now closes the operating system properly.
So all my thanks. My Raspberry Pi 2 is now a total success.
