could you enable component logging for video and post a new log. I think I know what's happening but there is some messages missing we can't explain yet.

It's just a guess but I'm now limiting the amount of data buffered in hw decoder which may help videoplayer estimate queue sizes more accurately.

This appears to have fixed it, I don't see the problem after 10 minutes of changing channels
