Ratio Issues on MK808B
#1
Hey There,

I have installed Kodi on a MK808B. Added some Plug-Ins and everything is awesome. Except that my picture is not going fullscreen.
I've checked the android settings, the kodi-settings, the add-on settings. (tested with vimeo and smoothstreams).
Kodi's menu-bar is going fullscreen, but the actual video picture is compressed to sth around 4:3. (see the attached picture).
I searched the forum, checked the posted FAQs, and googled my ass of.

Does anybody has an idea how to fix? Or point me to relevant thread. I couldn't find any solution.

Thanks a lot guys!

Give this a go and see if it helps...
In Isengard > Video Settings > Playback > Display 4:3 video as > Stretch 16:9

In Jarvis if my memory is correct the setting is 16:9 Non Linear

Also try to select the Video Settings Icon which is found when any sort of video is played on screen.
Play around with the "View Mode" setting.

Hey Man,

thanks a lot for your quick answer.
Unfortunately I've tried both your suggestions already. No changes.
The video settings influence the video partly, but all changes happen in the 2/3 of screen (the one you can see in the image above).
The menu-bar of kodi changes, but the 'canvas' on which is video is running still stays the same.

ps&ot: is that a wonderboy snake you got as avatar?

It appears so with the Avatar now I look it up, and that Wonder Boy in Monster Land game is pretty old indeed.
I just like the eating the Red Candy snakes from time to time....

As for the problem, looks like a permissions issue, solution download Universal Init.d App from the Play Store and follow this thread:

http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=229310

Post #26 in that thread has the complete script you need to type in.

There are other Android / OpenELEC ROMS also for the MK808B:

Hey, it seems to work (for now). Had to restart the device.
Altough I have no clue what I just did, better said what I granted read/write persmission to.
Anyway thanks a lot. I give a try for a while, before I try to find out how to mark this thread as 'solved'.
