Kodi is freezing endlessly since moving to windows 10
#1
Hello,
I'm trying to find a solution to this problem.
Since I moved to windows 10 64 almost every time I play a movie it freezes completely when the movie ends. This also happens a lot if I pause the movie or rewind.
The freeze is so bad that I can't even kill the process cause the focus stays on the hung kodi. I have to sign out and sign in again.
My windows 10 is after "reset installation", sfc is Ok, dxdiag Ok, all drivers updated to the latest.
I tried a suggestion to give the dx11 version a shot, but it has a bug with the "blank other display" option, which I really dig (can't stand to see the monitor next to the TV)

I can add the log here if needed, any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Ok, there we go again.
What happens if you temporarily disable hardware acceleration?
If it works fine, then most probably your driver(settings) are preventing proper playback.

If you have nvidia/amd drivers some versions are giving issues.

No Debug Log no issue ... endless story ...
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Well, with the debug log enabled, it freezes as soon as I play a video, only the sound continues, and it doesn't respond to key strokes.
This is the log for the freeze with the debugger:

and this is the log with the freeze without the debugger after the movie finished yesterday:

I haven't tried disabling hardware acceleration yet, I'll do that later, although I can't believe something is wrong with my GPU drivers. I already uninstalled them with guru3d nvidia uninstaller and reinstalled them. I don't have any special settings - only default ones.

update:
I tried disabling hardware acceleration, it still freezes.
I also tried to upload the log file, but it gave me an error "error uploading file, check the log for details". in the log I see something about "timed-out"..

Ok, checked off the obvious, lot of similar issues with latest nvidia drivers.

I am afraid without debug log, there's not much else to do but guess ...

Isn't the log that I pasted here "kodi.log" from the appdata folder, the same one that i can't upload?
