Alright, so after my last AMD Phenom X4 905e based HTPC box died (from old age), I now intend to build a new one and put Kodi on it.
I've looked around and found the VIA EPIA M920-16QE
http://www.viatech.com/en/boards/mini-itx/epia-m920/
It's fully passive with a VIA Eden X4 C4450 and has a Boost clock speed of 2.0ghz (base is 1.6ghz). TDP for the whole board seems to be sub 20W on load. Seems like it's capable of driving 2 1080p displays so that should cover it too.
I'm thinking of a Wesena case to house the set up as it is fully aluminium and has a half height slot which I intend to install a TV Tuner into. Need recommendations on which DVB-T2 tuner to use though. I already have a Windows 8 license which was used on my previous HTPC so that will be installed.
How will a remote control be used though? I've seen USB remotes, Analog (COM port) remotes, CIR remotes. Gonna use a picoPSU and I want to be able to turn the machine on and off naturally.
Thanks!
