Cannot create a zip file that works in kodi for addon
#1
I;m trying to zip an addon that I have created for kodi on a mac. For some reason it refuses to install. I have tried to use yemuzip, and terminal's zip. Any ideas here? I'm on yosemite.

Kodi will install other addon zips that I have downloaded but not the ones that I create myself. I can download a working zip, unzip it then zip it again, and it will not work. Huh

Any help?

might be those hidden .DS_Store / __MACOSX (or whatever they're called) files/folders
that are automatically added when you create a zipfile on mac?

if you can't figure it out, post a link to your zipfile and we'll have a look.

It is the hidden files like .DS_Store which cause the problem. You could open terminal and manually zap those 'gremlins' before zipping. I use CleanArchiver (freeware) to remove hidden files and zip the addons folder. Download it from MacUpdates.
