@gotoman00
please make a screenshot how do you detect drop frames in GUI? I have a less powered GPU and Kodi runs without issues.

well you said debug is not accurate, so with my eyes then. all animations in the GUI look choppy/horrible and sluggish, but only in kodi 16 w/ true fullscreen enabled.

for Kodi there is no difference in performance between full screen window of true full screen. I really don't know why you have an issue with true full screen mode.

I take it you know to press "O" when playing a movie?

yes and once again there is no problem with fullscreen video ONLY the UI.... just updated to 16 stable and still same problem, even installed to a diff folder and ran in portable mode and still the same problem

weird note, on 16 stable in portable mode if I use Fullscreen window it only shows the top left quarter portion of the screen... double checked resolution in Kodi and windows and still on 1080p@60hz

How are you detecting frame drops in UI? Just answer! FPS which is displayed then debug is ON is not a real FPS. Perhaps you try to battle with windmills.

I already answered: with my eyes. it is a VERY noticeable sluggish performance when using true fullscreen. the animations are very choppy. no I am not don Quixote, I have no reason to lie about this all I want to do is fix the problem! there is no reason to be rude or condescending.

you may also notice that when I installed 16 stable and use Fullscreen window it is now only displaying the top left quadrant of the screen zoomed in. it was not doing this on RC3, perhaps this is of some help?

edit: this thread has 1400 views I find it hard to believe I am the only one or hallucinating this

alright, worthwhile bump, i did my damndest to capture what i am seeing on camera. kodi 16 stable portable install, 120fps shot from my nexus 6p and uploaded to youtube. watch at 2x speed. i change to fullscreen window about 1:30 into the video and you can see considerable change in the animations.
