I installed Jarvis RC3 on a Samsung S2 tablet only to find the sound was disabled (red sound signal with slash through it in upper left corner) with no way to enable sound. Sound worked on everything else but not kodi, I searched and followed multiple suggestions to get sound to work, but nothing. installed Yatse remote control on my phone, enabled to tablet and voila, the sound now works, there is a bug if you cant turn on sound inside Kodi but can enable with a remote control from another device.

In theory it shouldn't be an issue since there's also no on-screen control to turn the volume off in the first place, but I know that there are many situations where this still happens anyways. Maybe it's an add-on or something. There's also a way of changing the volume when a video is playing, but that's very clunky. Regardless, I agree that it should be easier to re-enable audio in that situation. Maybe a touch screen gesture should be used.
