Looking for wireless keyboard
#1
Hi,
I'm new to Kodi. Have installed it on my fire stick and I'd like to purchase a wireless keyboard, I think a Bluetooth one?
Can anyone recommend one that works with the Firestick and Kodi? Ideally I am looking for one with a scroll pad on the side.

Thank you

Isn't that a 2.4GHz RF keyboard solution that requires a USB port for the receiver dongle to be connected at the other end?

That wouldn't work with a FireTV stick as it doesn't have a spare USB port for the receiver dongle to plug in to. (It doesn't even have a spare OTG port - the only port is used for power)

I think the OP is looking for a Bluetooth keyboard and trackpad combo, which they can pair in Android as a Bluetooth device using the built-in Bluetooth functionality of the Fire TV Stick. I'm not sure Logitech do a combined keyboard + trackpad solution for Bluetooth. (Most people only want the keyboard as they are using them with a mouse on a desktop, or iPads which has built-in touch and would ignore the track pad)

Hi noggin
That's exactly what I'm looking for. The fire stick does not have a USB port as it's taken up with the power source. Therefore the Logitech would not work as it requires a USB port.

I would require a keyboard that is Bluetooth and I think I would need to pair it with the firestick?
Would any Bluetooth keyboard work?

I have read good things about this http://www.amazon.com/QQ-Tech-Bluetooth-...entries*=0 over on xda for use with the NP, should be the same with the FireTV.

There was a price error locally $25 with a version of the which did have both blue tooth and wifi, I rushed out to pick on up, but sadly someone noticed the serial designation was important at best buy failed. model # didn't match 920-003706 vs 920-002359, and suddenly the price was more than double, so I passed on it but a few did get it and reported the blue tooth was functional. Maybe you'll run into a bit of luck the SKU is gone locally, but you may gety lucky elsewhere.

This one says it's blue tooth smart, the one dead center.

Bought myself one of these, and it works perfectly. Battery lasts for ages and the trackpad is actually pretty decent.

Sadly the OP has a Fire TV Stick, not a Fire TV.

Quote:This is an O.E.M. part. Compatible with Amazon Fire TV (Not Amazon Fire TV Stick)

There is just a single USB MicroUSB Port which is used for Power. I don't know if it supports OTG functionality (as the Chromecast does with the combined PSU+Wired Ethernet adaptor) which would allow an external Power+OTG solution to be used.

I can't remember seeing any combined keyboard+trackpad Bluetooth solutions - though keyboard and separate mouse Bluetooth combos are common.
