I think changing stream quality from best available to 5000 kbps has helped me some the last couple days. Video quality looks the same to me with that setting, still 60 fps, etc..

Isn't 5000k 720p 60fps the "best available", at least via hls? If not, what are the values of the higher quality?

It is. People who are complaining about picture quality are barking up the wrong tree. It is all in the hands of BAMTech and how much infrastructure they are allocating for MLB specifically. Via the addon we force the streams to sustain the bitrate of our choice as opposed to the adaptive streams via browser, hence the buffering sometimes depending on one's connection and BAMTech's bandwidth allocation. Some nights it is just spectacular with not even a hint of dropped frames let alone buffering.

Is it just me? On my kids android stick this addon works great,on my laptop with windows 7 it freezes and buffers for the last two weeks.Before that is was perfect.

Is anyone successfully running this addon on Kodi v17 Kryton build?

I'm running Krypton and the addon seems to operate fine until I choose the specific stream I want to watch at which point nothing happens. If I select the stream again, I get an error message. This is clipped from my log:

I couldn't get the Orioles/Giants to start tonight, live and archived. There's no issue in my browser. All other games I tried were fine.

Does anyone know if and when this addon will be fixed? The freezing and buffering is real bad running Kodi on windows 7, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Really miss this addon.

The problem is not the addon. The problem are the servers.

AppleTV4 has the same problems, but ATV can slow down the quality.

You are giving the answer yourself.
The picture qualtiy is better because you selected a bandwidth too high for your internet speed and/or mlb.tv`s server capability.
The official mlb apps use dynamic bandwidth selection, they will use a lower bandwidth == lower picture quality if the download speed isn`t there.

I lowered the bitrate all the way down and made no difference at all! This addon USE to be flawless.I am sad there is No logical fix or answer.

Another Problem is ffmpeg.

ffmpeg has only 7 Seconds cache for the 5 Mbit 720p60 stream. ATV4 has 64 MB cache. I've the same Problems on my aTV4 sometimes. It works in SD over severall minutes.

Buffering issues are just as likely to be caused by a users individual hardware configuration as they are to be caused by server load at the delivery network.

You may have some hardware deficiency, or other performance issues on your other device.
