When I try to install the Foundation skin on OpenElec 6 (Kodi Isengard) it says "Dependencies not met. Please contact add-on author"

This is the entry in the error log:

DEBUG: CAddonInstallJob[skin.foundation]: requires xbmc.gui version 3.00 which is not available
ERROR: CAddonInstallJob[skin.foundation]: dependency check failed.

Is the foundation skin no longer in active development? If so, what is a good basic skin for a beginner?

indeed. i would suggest to use confluence instead.

Confluence looks too complex for a beginner. I'm looking for a simpler skin, one that I can build from preferably.

I've heard that folks have been successful learning to skin by starting with Conq. I haven't looked at the code myself, but can't go wrong with something created by Hitcher. Smile

+1 for Conq. Also started with this one. The easiest IMO and plenty of useful tag for guidelines. But not sure it's still working on Jarvis. Maybe needs to bump GUI.

Another one is reFocus. Dunno the current state but 2 years ago I started with it. Not too complex and code is well documented iirc.
