Hi all,
I have always preferred to run stand alone HTPCs for Kodi use.
I am about to buy a 4K tv and going to need an upgrade to ensure I can support 4K playback.
I thought I was onto a winner when I decided I would just re purpose an old PC and turn into a HTPC.
The parts I would reuse would probably be the CPU and RAM, I would buy small form factor mobo and case with power. No video card would be installed so would be using HDMI out on mobo.
The issue I believe is that the processor is an i5-2400 Socket 1155. I have now spent some time looking at mobo but am starting to wonder if there was never 4k support on any 1155 motherboards?
Can anyone confirm this, or prove me wrong by showing me where I can buy a 1155 motherboard with 4k HDMI support?
Many thanks!
