Ok guys

I have now compile kodi on VS2015 i had to install it cause vs2013 was not good enough for the new Repository git updated.


now i have another problem which i will explain.

the output kodi.exe in the debug folder just created by the compile, started off by giving me avxxxxx.dll errors , then i placed a copy of all the DLLs in the debug folder and tried executing the kodi.exe it started giving Error: Unable to create application. Exiting...



Setup i am using


Win7 x64

i5 core cpu + 16gb RAM

the WIN+R dxdiag show no erros at all in both 32 and 64 bit mode.

i have installed the 16.x jarvis version on the same machine that i downloaded from kodi site, runned the installer and everything runs fine, no errors on executing kodi.


so i am 100% sure its something on my build, and cannot be incompatible hardware otherwise the 16.x jarvis build would not be compatible also with my hardware i think.


so i went on my user appdata folder / roaming and renamed the full kodi folder to something else, tried executing kodi again and it keeps giving me the same error.


i am just wondering on the kodi project where do i disable all external addons? and just compile kodi with the minimal setup required so i can test the app again?



also on the vs2015 it shows that kodi project file when i go in properties i see that the Target platform is set for Windows8.1 and there is no other option available on it. is this correct?

If i install visual studio 2015 build tools will i get build tool v140 available so i can link it to the project?

Follow the instruction at http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Compile_Kodi_for_Windows, and just take in account what Krypton requires VS2015.

ok the output Kodi.exe 33Mb 10mb extra then my kodi.exe from 16.x jarvis version running on the machine.

Surelly some extra addon features have been enabled on it.

so i dig a litle further i have actually renamed the kodi.exe jarvis i have installed under Programs (x86) folder on my Hard drive running ok, and placed a copy of my Krypton Kodi.exe on the same folder. i still get the Error: Unable to create application. Exiting

but the log goes further over the settings.xml file i now get another error ahead..
