Hi, I have a home server and an acer revo running kodi.

I have no internet, the acer revo is connected to my home server via ethernet canble, I can see kodi on my tv but can not acses the files on my home server, is they a way i can make it work?

You need to "add source" for your media and point to your server.

What's your LAN's topology, IAW how do you connect to your server ? P2P or via a router?

at the moment I have no internet my acer revo running kodi is pluged into my server via ethernet cable

You need a crossover cable unless both network cards and cables are GigaBit, or you use a switch/router between them..
