I am looking to make a plugin where cover art are put inside a "dvd cover" or "cd cover" overlay image. is this possible to from a plugin level?

Thats exactly what am looking for, but am not interested in developing a skin, i like to implement it inside a plugin.

I just like to know if its possible to implement overlay from a plugin level for plugin use only ?

if yes if anyone can point me to right wiki or direction would be great.
