Wonderful! Thanks very much!

I had the update to MIMIC v5.0.0 earlier today, but the Backup/Restore option isn't available.

I've used it on the previous version to copy the same skin settings between multiple devices (Nvidia Shield TV's), but now I have to do it manually.

Anything I've missed please?

I'm running Krypton beta 6.

Thanks.

I disabled it temporarily, because it requires a script that is not in the Kodi repo yet. If you need to use it now, you'll need marcelveldt's beta repo. See first post.

Let me know if you do this and I'll post the minor code change needed to make it work.

Update: Here's the code you'll need to change. Basically, just remove the <enable>False</enable> code in SkinSettings.xml for button controls 407 and 408.

As you speak about backup setting, I have a little problem since quite some time. Time to time (it doesnt happen very often fortunately) when I restart my computer the mimic settings are reset to default. Don't know if its a glitch with mimic or kodi, but just wanted to report it.

Can't say I've ever experienced this. There was a Kodi bug where skin settings weren't saved when the skin reloaded, but this has been fixed for a while.

Oh right, OK.

I thought Marcel's skin helper downloaded when MIMIC updated earlier.

What version do I need please?

I have v1.0.116 installed.

He's updating it every day, so not sure what the latest version is. Just install the beta repo and it will auto update.

Ok it's not a big deal as it doesnt happen very often and it's pretty quick to set everything back the way it was.

When use one of random fanart or image wall as background it only display a black baground. (latest git version of mimic and kodi 17. And latest version of skin helper service from the autor's beta repo)

Was working last time I checked. Will test again this weekend, won't have access to a computer until then.

Doubt it's a skin issue. Looks more like an issue with your texture database. Try running Texture Cache Maintenance Utility to fix it.

I use it everyday. Do I need to force recache of all items?
Edit - All other views show poster correctly so it can't be a texture db issue. Problem is only with list view. I ran complete recache and its still the same.

These are my posts from 3.x version. This still happens in 5.x

Can't reproduce it here. Are you sure the artwork is in the database and not just in the movie folders? Try running Artwork Downloader and set it to use local artwork if you'd like.

Yup, check the screenshots -
Code:

My artwork downloader is always set on local artwork since I use TMM to scrape metadata.

I think I solved it. I went through the view xmls..
Line 999 from View_50_List.xml

Code:
<texture background="true" diffuse="diffuse/list-poster.png">$INFO[ListItem.Icon]</texture>

I changed it to
Code:
<texture background="true" diffuse="diffuse/list-poster.png">$VAR[PosterVar]</texture>

and I can see posters in my List view again Smile

No ideas then, it's working here and I'm not aware anyone else is having this issue.

Just looked at your file names, you might try renaming thumb.jpg to landscape.jpg. See http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Artwork_Downloader
