Out of curiosity now that Ubuntu 16.04 LTS has been released, will there be a new Kodibuntu iso based on this?

This thread gets you pretty close, just not pre-packaged. My guess (I'm no NO way associated with Team Kodi, this is purely my conjecture) is if there is going to be a pre-built ISO, it'll wait until both the point release of 16.04 (July I think) and v17 Krypton of Kodi, since there are a lot of VAAPI related improvements that aren't part of 16.
