USB IR Reader for Harmony remotes
#1
I have my Harmony remote and I've been using the an old HP IR USB reader which is about 8 years old now. A friend wants the same config I have and am curious what people can recommend as an good model. I personally find the Harmony 350 a solid remote. Is there a good model for this.

I asked for the same (USB IR Receiver) to Matt Devo sometime ago and he replied:

for both Windows and Linux, your best bet is a genuine MCE IR receiver. I use some from ebay, have bought a dozen or so from the same seller and they work perfectly: http://www.ebay.com/itm/231506986079

The important here is the model number.

IR receiver model 5188-1667

That's the one known to work best.
