Alternative PVR Client for TVHeadend?
#1
Hi all,

I recently upgraded from Kodi 15 to 16, since the upgrade the libstagefright hardware acceleration has been replaced with MediaCodec (Surface). Because of this, SD Live TV is lagging when streamed from the TVHeadend backend, and HD Live TV is out of sync and also lagging.

I can still play 1080p mkv files absolutely fine from a network share, it's only affecting Live TV (probably due to the way TVHeadend encodes the stream?).

There's an option within the TVHeadend config settings (Stream > Stream Profiles) to opt for a different encoding method, however the Kodi TVHeadend PVR client doesn't seem to allow anything but the standard htsp stream.

Is it possible to use another PVR client, or another way to stream from TVHeadend using a different encoding method to Kodi? (works fine to Windows).

Cheers!

Ah nevermind, figured out how to change the stream profiles and tested a lot of options, with different encoding methods - still doesn't work :\ I'll just downgrade back to Kodi 15!

Configure Simple IPTV Addon to use this as source for the m3u playlist:

this has all the details. https://github.com/tvheadend/tvheadend/b...own/url.md

like cketelsen already said,

Iptv address if no authentication : http://your-tvheadend-ip:9981/playlist
Iptv with authentication : http://yourusername:yourpassword@your-tvheadend-ip:9981/playlist

if you want the epg set the epg url to

Iptv address if no authentication : http://your-tvheadend-ip:9981/xmltv
Iptv with authentication : http://yourusername:yourpassword@your-tvheadend-ip:9981/xmltv

I see a lip sync issue with one of my Kodi boxes running Krypton but it's resolved pretty well changing the deinterlacing method when playing the content from TVH.
