Does anyone know if it is possible make make a super simple skin that lets you put icon pics as the main menu bar? I am thinking of how the PS4 has the main bar you scroll through. It would be nice to have your add on available right in the main menu. Like the Steam Add on has a nice looking thumbnail pic with it.

It's more than possible, anything is do-able in Kodi, but to help you out, and to make it clear, posting some images of what you have in mind would make it easier to visualize. This would be the difference between a slight skin modification, to outright making a skin from scratch, it all depends on the determination, effort and commitment.

Don't have a way to link pictures right now, but what I am saying is instead of having video, program, ect. You could have the Red youtube logo and the steam logo. That way you could launch the add on right from the main scroll menu.
