I cannot get KODI to see and use the Raspberry PI 3 built-in wireless adapter..................
How can I resolve this, please?

Wireless is a distribution rather than a kodi feature. Might help if you described your distribution and version.
Wireless should work out-of-the-box with LibreELEC or OSMC running Jarvis or later.
