I have the same exact problem, both on my Laptop and on my PC.
Might this be because I'm using an Azerty keyboard on both of those?
Visual keyboard of kodi works just fine, only happens with hardware keyboard.
Kodi Info
Version: Kodi 17.0-RC3 Git:20170111-4d93228-dirty
Compiled: Jan 12 2017
Screen-mode: Fullscreen
Operating System
Windows 10 Home
Keyboard Info
Country: Belgium
Language: Dutch (Belgium) -> you also have a Dutch (Netherlands)
Keyboard-layout: AZERTY
Bug reproduction
Example 1:
If I type for example "Jack Reacher" at a normal speed it registers properly, but if I type "Jack Reacher" at a fast speed it becomes "Jak Reaher".
It seems like there is a 1ms delay for the "c" to display compared to other characters.
Example 2:
If I hold "a" on my keyboard it keeps adding up like "aaaaaaaaa" but if I do it with "c" it only displays it once and ends up like "c".
The strange thing though is that when I hold LeftShift and "c" at the same time it works fine and displays as "CCCCCCCCCCCC".
Tested all the keys on my keyboard and this problem only persists with key "c".
I also tried switching the keyboard-layout to QWERTY (trough windows) but the problem remained the same.
I tested this using the Search -> Search add-ons function. But it happens in every dialog window where you can insert a string.
